Tropical low pressure area becomes storm Kirogi

VTV.vn - This morning (Nov 18), the tropical low pressure area in the East Sea strengthened and became storm Kirogi.

At 10am, the eye of the storm was north of the Spratly Archipelago and 510 km to the east-southeast of the coast of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan provinces. As forecasted for the next 24 hours, the storm will move to the west, with a speed of 20 to 25 km/h and get stronger.

At 10am on Sunday, the eye of the storm will reach the coast of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan provinces. The danger zone for the next 24 hours stretches from the 9th to the 13th parallels. The central and southern East Sea has already witnessed heavy rain, strong winds and rough waves and the same situation will also be seen from Binh Dinh to Ba Ria - Vung Tau from early Sunday morning. Localities in the central and southern regions, and the Central Highlands will also suffer torrential rains.
