Despite the decrease in the number of projects, total registered investment capital saw a signficant increase.
Among the 13 newly registered investment projects, there are three large ones including the Dong Thanh 1 and Dong Thanh 2 Wind Power Plants worth a total of around VND9.450 trillion (over US$409.4 million) and the Co Chien Industrial Park construction and business investment project worth nearly VND750 billion (nearly US$32.5 million).
Chairman of Tra Vinh provincial People’s Committee Le Van Han said the province has made great efforts to attract investment into the fields of marine economy, tourism, industry, agriculture, infrastructure in industrial clusters and urban development.
According to a report from the 2020 Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) rankings , as announced by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Tra Vinh climbed 10 places to 48th position. The province hopes to jump at least five places in the rankings in 2021.
Tra Vinh has now 382 valid investment projects, including 41 foreign projects, with a total registered capital of US$3.1 billion, and 341 domestic ones worth nearly VND122 trillion.
