TPP trade talks roll on

Three major obstacles in these huge trade talks include the minimum local procurement rate in car imports to the US, opening the US and Canadian markets to New Zealand milk and the timespan for the intellectual property rights of organic pharmaceutical products.

The first two issues have nearly been finalised. However, after the US and Australia reached an agreement in principle in the IP issue, technical difficulties in all of the led to a collapse in the already reached agreements.

A press conference to announce the results of the trade talks will take place today.
