This model was implemented in Vietnam by a group of youngsters. They established an organisation entitled Volunteering for Education (VEO) to connect travellers with volunteer work in different areas in Vietnam.
Children at Coi village in Tan Son district, Phu Tho province have been looking forward to learning English every Saturday, ever since a volunteer program was implemented by VEO. Travellers in the programs can participate in volunteer activities such as teaching, bookshelf making and cleaning the environment.
Currently, VEO has implemented 6 tourist destinations, 8 projects and 163 trips. The program has had more than 13 thousand domestic and international volunteers.
In 2016, VEO won the Lotte Start-up Award with a local community based project in Lác village, Mai Chau province.
