VTV.vn - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended a seminar on August 11 to discuss revisions to the working regulations of the legislative body’s plenary meetings.

He said that many contents have been piloted to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and now is the time for review and research towards amending the regulations.

At the seminar, the participants all stated that many provisions in the current regulations are no longer suitable and need revising to suit the new context.

According to Chairman Hue, the regulations of the National Assembly’s meetings are highly important in creating a legal framework for the functioning of the parliament.

Therefore, revisions to the regulations must meet the requirements of reforming the working method of the National Assembly in a manner that expands democracy and enhances the rule of law, professionalism, openness, transparency and effectiveness.

For the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the parliament to convene virtually or combine both in-person and virtual meetings.
