Top FDI destination

This positioned the city as the country's leading FDI destination. This result has been attributed to the effective implementation of the new Law on Investment and creative solutions to improving the business environment.

Another important motivation behind FDI attraction is that FDI enterprises have been allowed to buy shares, following the 2014 Law on Investment. Of the 6.6 billion USD FDI in HCM City last year, 50% came from FDI enterprises who bought stakes in state-owned enterprises.
