Since the end of May, the organizers of the Sao Mai 2022 program announced its start.
Consequently, Sao Mai BTC will begin receiving registration documents from June 1 and the registration period will last until the end of June 30. Young people who want to try their luck in Sao Mai 2022 will submit their application by accessing to https://saomai.vtv.vn .
General requirements for candidates participating in the Sao Mai 2022:
Eligible participants must meet the following conditions:
1. Be a Vietnamese national or foreign national of Vietnamese origin, aged between 18 and 30 years.
2. Contestants must not be subject to investigation by law enforcement, have ethics and lead healthy lifestyle and must be responsible for their statements in the application submitted to the Organizing Committee.
3. Candidate's documents must be certified by one of the following three institutions:
+ Education and training institution where they are studying.
+ Agency and organization where they are working.
+ Local government where the candidate currently resides.
The Sao Mai Award is a contest to select talented vocalists, organized by Vietnam Television every two years to promote the singing movement throughout the country. This is the only scenario that fully converges three musical genres: chamber music, folk music and pop music in a single competition. These strict but necessary criteria are of the utmost importance so that each young singer is aware of his responsibility and role when embarking on the artistic path.
Sao Mai Award is a prestigious program, not simply a contest to find good voices, but a launching pad, a place where authentic Vietnamese musical talents are revealed and shine. Over time, it has proven that the contestants had firmly asserted their artistic path as artists who are not only good at their profession but also respected with professional ethics.
The Sao Mai Award 2022 contest is divided into 2 rounds:
1. Regional qualifying round (round 1)
Includes 2 competitions: preliminary competition and regional final competition
- From June 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022: opening of the registration.
Candidates who register for the contest submit their application form on the website https://saomai.vtv.vn
- From July 1, 2022 to August 15, 2022, the regional qualifying round will be held in 3 regions of the North, Center and South.
+ The Department of Culture and Arts as well as Vietnam Television Centers in the Central - Central Highlands region, and the Vietnam Television Center in the South will carry out the selection of candidates from the North, Central and Central regions in July and August according to the organizing committee's plan. The announcement will be updated on May 23, 2022 on the https://saomai.vtv.vn website and digital platforms of the Vietnam Television.
+ The radio and television stations of the provinces and cities will organize local singing contest (if any) and send the contestants having obtained the First Prize in musical genres to the night of the regional contest of the Sao Mai Award 2022.
Round 1 will be taped and broadcast on the "Road to Sao Mai 2022" program, which is expected to air in the second week of August on Vietnam Television channels and VTV digital platforms.
2. National Final (round 2)
Includes 4 qualifying nights and 2 premiere nights.
Round 2 will be held in September 2022 in Hai Phong City and will be broadcast live on Vietnam television.
