The first flight on the air route departed from Taoyuan International Airport and arrived at Da Nang International Airport, carrying 170 passengers.
Upon arrival, the passengers were presented with flowers and souvenirs at a welcome ceremony hosted by the Da Nang City Tourism Department and functional agencies.
In the initial stage, Tigerair Taiwan will fly a round trip between the two destinations every Wednesday and Saturday.
According to Chairman of Tigerair Taiwan Co. Ltd. Han-Ming Chen, Vietnam will be one of the key markets for the company's future activities.
He revealed that two more routes connecting Taipei City with Vietnam’s Nha Trang and Phu Quoc are expected to open in the first quarter of 2023.
