VTV.vn - Vietnam recorded three new imported COVID-19 cases on October 21, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Among the new patients, all Vietnamese and quarantined upon their arrival, a 46-year-old woman returned from Russia on Flight VN5062 that landed at Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh on October 16.

Meanwhile, a 33-year-old woman and her 8-month-old son were repatriated from Angola on Flight VN8 on October 20 and also entered the country via the Van Don Airport.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Vietnam currently stands at 1,144, including 691 domestically infected ones.

All hotbeds nationwide have been put under control while the country has gone through 48 straight days without community transmission of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19.

As many as 1,046 patients have recovered, and the number of related deaths was still kept at 35.

Among those still under treatment, 10 have tested negative for the virus once, three others twice, and five others thrice. No patients are in critical condition at present, the treatment sub-committee noted.
