Named after Nguyen Thi Dinh (1920-1992) - the first female general serving in the Vietnam People’s Army, the award is hosted by the Vietnam Women's Union to honour exceptional women who have made significant contributions to promoting the tradition of Vietnamese women and developing women’s movements nationwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien expressed his hope that the awardees will maintain their revolutionary enthusiasm, promote their strengths, better perform their assigned tasks, and make further contributions to the development of the Vietnam Women’s Union and the women's movements in particular.
He also asked Party committees at all levels, authorities, socio-political organisations, relevant ministries and sectors to coordinate closely with the Vietnam Women’s Union to implement the women's movements and activities more practically and effectively.
