The sixth ASEAN Defence Minister's Meeting Plus

Its theme was "Sustainable security." At the event, the Ministers reaffirmed their commitments to maintaining peace, stability, and security in the region.

Minister Ngô Xuân Lịch then acknowledged the efficiency of ASEAN-led defence cooperation mechanisms which paved the way for sustainable development and economic growth.

Regarding the recent complicated developments in the East Sea, Minister Ngô Xuân Lịch said Vietnam would tackle the issue with respect for international laws and build a practical and effective Code of Conduct (COC). After the meeting, Thailand handed over the hammer of ADMM Chairmanship to Vietnam.
