After the terrorist attack in Paris, the symbol of “Pray for Paris” is trending on social networks and widely used around the world. It is a picture of Eiffel Tower surround by a circle. This image is considered as anti-terrorism symbol and inspired by the famous “The Peace Sign” in 1958.
The designer of this new logo is Jean Jullien – a French artist. He uploaded the picture on Instagram and Twitter after the assault occurred.
During the attack, Jean was in England. He said: “After hearing about the attack broke out, I thought I had to draw something. It was my natural reaction. I wanted to draw a symbol of peace, unity and it must relate to Paris”.

“I don’t think my picture would get wide-spread and used by millions of people but I’m not proud of it. The bomb attack was horrible. However, I’m still happy that people use that for peace sign” – he added.
In January 2015, Jean Jullien also portrayed the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack. This picture also attracted great attention on social networks.

Jean said: “Each picture has its own meaning and message. Illustrating is my job and it is the only way to express my thoughts and feelings.”
The 32-year-old artist added: “ Many people think that artworks are created for business and advertising. However, we all have difficulties in understanding each other because of language barriers. Therefore, art can help us to narrow that gap and I think I need something simple that everyone in the world can understand.”
