On the afternoon of March 18, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Binh Dinh province held a press conference to announce a series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the province’s liberation and the 42nd edition of the National Television Festival in 2025.
Binh Dinh province plans to organize several celebratory events, the highlight of which will be a solemn ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of liberation, accompanied by an epic musical performance and a fireworks display.

Also included in the commemorative activities are programs honoring heroic contributors, caring for policy beneficiaries, inaugurations of key construction projects, and exhibitions of photographs and historical materials… to instill patriotism and revolutionary tradition among officials, Party members, and the public. These events will highlight the invaluable contributions of past generations to the liberation and development of Binh Dinh.
At the same time, the 42nd National Television Festival, the National Innovation Startup Forum, and various sports tournaments are expected to draw tourist interest and further energize the commemorative atmosphere.
Speaking at the press conference, the leaders of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism called on media outlets inside and outside the province to pay special attention to promoting the 50th-anniversary activities, especially the main celebration. They also encouraged coverage of the related events hosted by various departments and localities under the provincial government’s guidance.

Running concurrently with the anniversary celebrations is the 42nd National Television Festival, taking place from March 19 to 22, 2025, jointly organized by Vietnam Television (VTV) and the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province.
The festival serves as a professional forum where television professionals from across the country gather to share expertise and explore modern broadcasting trends. This year’s competition will award prizes in 11 categories, including: Children’s Programs, Documentaries, Reportages, Short Reportages, Educational Programs, Talk Shows and Debates, Ethnic Minority Language Programs, Music and Dance Performances, Theatrical Shows, Television Dramas, and Digital Platform Videos.
At this year’s festival, VTV units will host several professional workshops, including the seminar titled “Journalistic Skills in the Digital Environment”, organized by VTV Digital, the Center for Digital Content Production and Development.
Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, emphasizes that this is one of the province’s major events of 2025.
Another seminar, “Data Mining and AI Applications for Digital Transformation in Broadcasting”, will be co-hosted by the Broadcast Technology Information Center and VTV Digital. The seminar will focus on the application of artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies to enhance content production, distribution, and copyright management in the television industry, thereby creating new value. Experts in AI and digital transformation from across Vietnam will take part in the discussion.
Additionally, an exhibition titled “The People Behind Television” will showcase images highlighting Vietnam’s broadcasting industry. The exhibition is expected to attract public interest and participation. As the host of this year’s festival, Binh Dinh is set to welcome more than 1,000 journalists from television organizations nationwide to cover the event.
One of the festival's major features is the epic musical performance titled "Binh Dinh – Pride and Aspiration", which recreates the province’s long and culturally rich history. Often referred to as the "Land of Martial Arts – Land of Literature", Binh Dinh’s tradition of patriotism, resilience, and noble spirit has been preserved and elevated through generations. The performance will highlight historic moments such as the Tay Son Uprising, with the brilliant victory at Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da, led by national hero Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue, as well as showcase Binh Dinh’s triumphs during Vietnam’s resistance wars and its socio-economic achievements since 1975.
Notably, following the epic art performance titled "Binh Dinh – Pride and Aspiration" celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Binh Dinh province, a fireworks display will take place, featuring 150 ground firework racks and 800 aerial fireworks. The show is expected to last approximately 15 minutes, scheduled from 9:30 PM to 9:45 PM on March 30, 2025, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square in Quy Nhon City.
