At the event, Thanh Hoa leaders informed Korean investors of the province’s socio-economic development orientations, especially the priority areas in which Thanh Hoa is calling for investment.
The two sides also discussed matters of interest to Korean investors such as opportunities to manufacture electric vehicles in Thanh Hoa Province as well as its tax policy.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu highlighted Thanh Hoa’s clear and correct development orientations as well as its high political determination.
He expressed his expectations that Thanh Hoa will be one of the key provinces to receive high-quality investment in areas such as advanced technology, innovation, human resources development, green development, and smart city development.
At the conference, representatives of Thanh Hoa Province and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency signed memorandums of understanding on contents of mutual interest.
Korean investors are currently implementing 37 projects worth a total of 1.6 billion USD in Thanh Hoa Province, accounting for 11% of the total foreign investment that has poured into the province.
The RoK has also provided Thanh Hoa with 135 million USD worth of official development assistance to support areas such as healthcare, education, transport, and urban development.
