Addressing the event, People’s Doctor Le Van Sy, Director of Thanh Hoa General Hospital, affirmed that generations of the hospital’s officials, public servants and workers have always been proud of its glorious traditions.
In the coming time, the hospital will continue to synchronously implement solutions to constantly improve the quality and efficiency of its work and gradually modernise itself to meet the criteria of a special-class hospital, thus realising the goal of making health care one of the province’s five growth pillars and fulfilling the task of protecting and caring for people’s health, he said.
Throughout its 122 years of development, Thanh Hoa General Hospital has made great strides in the research, application and transfer of many advanced and modern medical services, while promoting the development of specialised medical techniques. In particular, the hospital has performed 12 successful kidney transplants and is the first provincial hospital in the country to successfully perform kidney transplants from brain-dead donors.
Up to now, the hospital has developed three faculties meeting ISO 15189:2012 standards, a strong transformation affirming its position and brand as one of the leading provincial general hospitals in Vietnam’s health sector.
In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Thanh Hoa General Hospital has made proactive, rapid and effective steps in carrying out its pandemic prevention and control measures. It is also the first provincial hospital in the country to have successfully treated one of the first three Vietnamese COVID-19 patients returning from Wuhan, China.
