The VFF representative expressed his sincere thanks for the support from Thai government and people. He said that the drought and salinity have affected over 1 million people and caused losses of nearly 287 million USD. He announced that the 100 million USD will be used to build water filter stations, support to buy water storage facilities, structure plantations and animals to adapt the prolonged drought and salinity, and invest in researching new salt-tolerant rice varieties.
