VTV.vn - Exports of textile and garments totalled some 23 billion USD from January to June, a 17.7% increase year on year.

Garment exports alone rose by 19.5% year-on-year to nearly 17 billion USD. The figures demonstrate the industry's efforts amid several difficulties in the global economy.

Vietnam's textile-garment producers aim for total shipments in 2022 to reach 43 billion USD; however, the industry is also facing challenges as the risk of Covid's resurgence persists.

Vietnam's major trade partners such as China and Japan continue to impose stringent pandemic control measures, affecting the supply chain of materials and accessories as well as product consumption.

Input costs have risen continuously since the beginning of the year due to Vietnam's key textile markets, which include the US and Europe, facing high inflation and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
