Four gifts, each including Nhan Dan spring publications, confectionery, essentials and VND1 million in cash, were delivered to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Dang Thi Thu; war invalid Tran Van Thin, 70; Y Cam, 74, a daughter of a fallen soldier; and Nguyen Thi Ky, 90, a paralysed lonely elder.
On the same day, the Lai Hoa border guard station in Soc Trang Province, in coordination with MainStream Phu Cuong Company Limited, organised a programme to present 100 gifts worth VND500,000 each to policy beneficiary households and needy families in the communes of Lai Hoa and Vinh Tan, in Vinh Chau Town.
Since January 25, all-level Red Cross societies in Hoa Binh Province have mobilised and presented VND2.6 billion (US$112,926) worth of gifts to poor people in the districts of Kim Boi, Lac Son, Yen Thuy and Mai Chau, and Hoa Binh City.
The Red Cross of Ha Tinh Province, in coordination with the Huong Khe District General Hospital, recently organised a spring humanitarian fair, during which 200 people from poor and near-poor households, policy beneficiary families and those hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters in 2020 were offered free-of-charge medical advice and medicines, as well as a VND200,000 voucher each to purchase essentials for the upcoming Tet.
On January 29, the Vietnam Trade Union of Civil Servants held a conference to review its performance in 2020 and deploy tasks for 2021, and organised a programme to present more than 300 gifts to trade union members living in difficult circumstances who were affected by the pandemic.
