Ten Outstanding Vietnamese Young Faces of 2020 honoured

VTV.vn - Ten Outstanding Vietnamese Young Faces and ten Promising Young Faces of 2020 were honoured at a ceremony held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Vietnam Young Talent Fund in Hanoi on March 21.

The ceremony was attended by Politburo member Vo Van Thuong, who is Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat; members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh; First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan, who is President of the Vietnam Youth Federation and President of the Outstanding Vietnamese Young Faces Awards Council; and Bui Quang Huy, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Secretary of the HCYU’s Central Committee, President of the Vietnam National Union of Students; along with leaders of ministries, departments, branches and many outstanding Vietnamese young faces and typical Vietnamese young faces in different periods.

Addressing the event, Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Vo Van Thuong hailed the efforts made by the HCYU to promote the role of youths in nation building and safeguarding through various movements, programmes and activities, including the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Award.

The award is a substantial and meaningful activity honouring outstanding and prestigious young people who have positive influence on the community and have great achievements in the nine areas of learning, scientific research – innovation, labour and production, business – start-ups, national defence, security and order, sports, culture and arts, and social activities.

Politburo member Vo Van Thuong said that, after receiving the award, the exemplary young people should continue to contribute to the nation in all fields, with many of them having great influence and deserve to be role models for other youths.

After the awarding ceremony, award winners will pay tribute to the Hung Kings at the temple dedicated to the legendary founders of the nation in the northern province of Phu Tho.

At the ceremony, the organizing board awarded the Typical Vietnamese Young Faces Award 2020 to 10 individuals, including: Bui Hong Duc (field of study); Doan Le Hoang Tan (field of creative research); Tran Anh Tu (field of production worker); Major Tran Viet Hai (field of national defence); Captain Nguyen Trung Duc (field of security and order); Nguyen Van Quyet (field of physical training and sports); Pham Ngoc Anh Tung (field of start-up business); Vo Minh Quang (field of culture and arts); Hoang Tuan Anh, Ha Anh Phuong (field of social activities).

The Organising Committee also awarded the Promising Young Faces Award 2020 to 10 other individuals.

On the occasion, the Vietnam Young Talent Fund; Journalist Le Xuan Son, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Director of the Vietnam Young Talent Fund; and Journalist Phung Cong Sen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Young Talent Fund were presented Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister for their positive contributions in developing young talents, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the country.

Earlier, they also paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and offered incense at the Monument for Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street.
