The opening ceremony was attended by Politburo members: Minister of Public Security, General To Lam; Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai; and Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Van Nen; as well as members of the Party Central Committee: Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee Pham Viet Thanh; leaders of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang provinces.
The programme introduced various intangible cultural heritages of the province such as don ca tai tu (Southern instrumental music and singing), Chhay-dam drum dance and Cham dance. As part of the programme, a photo exhibition on provincial socio-economic and cultural achievements, natural landscapes, historical sites, traditional craft villages, and festivals will be held at the pedestrian zone nearby.
In addition, 30 pavilions offering local food specialties, introducing tourism packages as well as performing songs and dances will be held during the festival.
Visitors can try various delicacies such as soursops, durians, banh trang (rice paper), smoked beef and shrimp salt.
The three-day event is expected to help promote Tay Ninh’s unique culture, trade and tourism potential, as well as attracting investment to the province.
