If life is like a race, then everyone is an athlete striving to achieve their goals. Along the way, some aim to make it to the Hall of Fame, while others simply inspire with their relentless efforts.
Take Off in June will feature stories of people who work tirelessly to make themselves and those around them happy, spreading positive messages, and helping to build a better community and society. The program will feature guest commentator Tran Mai Huong, former General Director of the Vietnam News Agency.
The speakers in the June episode are also remarkable. Among them is Mrs. Nguyen Thi Viet Dung (84 years old) from Uong Bi, Quang Ninh. She is well-known in the marathon community in Quang Ninh for her passionate participation in every race. Even in her 80s, Mrs. Dung enjoys collecting medals and clothing from each race, a passion that few people her age can indulge in.
Another guest on the show is Mr. Nguyen Tien Huy, the founder of the Green Hanoi Club. For nearly two years, the club members have been cleaning up the polluted rivers of the capital. With the motto "Clean wherever we go", the group carefully surveys and thoroughly cleans each area to restore its cleanliness. Green Hanoi prioritizes heavily polluted rivers and canals with long-standing waste, such as the To Lich River and Nhue River. The safety of volunteers is paramount, and the group strives to balance thorough cleaning with safety.
Also featured in this episode is Trinh Thu Trang, the founder of the "Vietnamese Colors" project. In 2013, while working on design projects, she was captivated by the vibrant colors, patterns, and vivid imagery of the original Hang Trong paintings at the home of the last artisan, Le Dinh Nghien. Hang Trong paintings are deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture, but unfortunately, they are now mostly preserved in museums and rare collections.
A key challenge in creating a unique Vietnamese design identity is the lack of traditional art resources. This question led to the birth of "Vietnamese Colors from Hang Trong Paintings", aiming to use the rich, yet underutilized, traditional colors and patterns in design.
