The highest penalty for this violation will be imprisonment. This move is aimed at preventing infectious diseases, which are becoming more prevalent in a number of countries.

Accordingly, Taiwan, China, and Australia will impose high fines for violators who bring in meat-based products. The highest fine in Taiwan, China is 750 million VND, while in Australia it is 7 billion VND. Meanwhile, violators can also get 3 years in prison for bringing prohibited food items into Japan.
