Hailing the outcomes of the meeting, the state president asked the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross to continue providing support for member organisations in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.
The support is especially necessary in the fields of community-based disaster management, response to emergency cases and climate change response. Asia Pacific Red Cross Director Xavier Castellanos, for his part, lauded the Vietnam Red Cross for its increasing involvement in humanitarian and charity work. State President Tran Dai Quang said the federation's Asia Pacific branch paid attention to developing the role of member countries, including those in Southeast Asia.
