This was announced by the hospital on Friday. The donor was a 30-year-old man who had died of a serious traumatic brain injury. The recipients of the dual transplant were an eight-year-old child and a 49-year-old man. The conditions of all patients have improved in the six days following the operations. The two patients who received a liver transplant can now breathe on their own and their livers are functioning normally. Splitting a liver between two patients is not common around the world, however this is a notable improvement of Vietnam's health sector.
