VTV.vn - As many as 61 provinces and cities across the country have announced plans to reopen schools next week after the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday was extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two remaining localities of Hai Duong and Hai Phong have not yet made an official announcement on when their schools can reopen as they are still considering their current pandemic situation and approach.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, proper measures have been taken to ensure the highest level of safety for students and teachers and to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Schools are requested to coordinate with parents to keep a close watch on students’ health while they are at home and at school.

Local departments of education and training and educational institutions in localities where students are not allowed to resume normal schooling are requested to continue online teaching to ensure the quality of study after a long holiday.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, by February 27 afternoon, 10 provinces and cities had gone through 14 consecutive days without any new locally-transmitted cases of COVID-19.
