The competition of Week 1 - Month 3 - Quarter 4 of the Road to Olympia Mount featured four contestants: Nguyen Van Duc (Le Quy Don Specialized High School - Ba Ria-Vung Tau), Nguyen Nhat Thanh (Gia Dinh High School - Ho Chi Minh City), Du Duc Anh (FPT High School - Hanoi), and Nguyen Si Quoc Khanh (Kien An High School - Hai Phong). In Olym!, the four contestants shared their emotions about competing together.
After the first Warm-up round, Nhat Thanh was considered the most "formidable" and "fearsome" as he kept pressingthe buzzer too quickly. The other three contestants agreed that they needed to "lock" Nhat Thanh's buzzer so that others could have a chance to answer. Meanwhile, Van Duc and Quoc Khanh admitted they were unsatisfied that they missed several questions or answered incorrectly.
However, the question about Hai Phong made Quoc Khanh extremely proud as he presented himself as a "tourism ambassador" for his hometown. Backstage, the schoolboy enthusiastically acted as a tour guide, impressing the other contestants.
As for Duc Anh, while others were trying to be as fast as possible, the Hanoi native had a slow-but-steady strategy. This was a lesson Duc Anh learned from practicing Vovinam martial arts.
In the Overcome Obstacle round, Nhat Thanh was still seen as the strongest contender. However, Duc Anh temporarily took the lead by pressing the buzzer to solve the puzzle on the third question.
Talking about his performance, the Hanoi schoolboy was very happy and proud of his "go big or go home" strategy. He admitted, "Honestly, I did not know the exact answer, but after the image was revealed, I had a certain feeling." Nhat Thanh, originally considered the number one contender, acknowledged Duc Anh's victory in the Obstacle course and expressed his admiration.
The Speed-up round this time overwhelmed the audience with the speed and competitiveness of all four contestants. Quoc Khanh and Nhat Thanh were both satisfied with their performances, while Duc Anh regretted not being able to maintain his lead in the Obstacle course and quickly allowed the others to catch up in points.
At the end of the Finish round, the audience was thrilled to witness an emotional match with two tie-breaking questions for Duc Anh, Nhat Thanh, and Quoc Khanh. In the end, Quoc Khanh became the owner of the laurel wreath amid the cheers of his supporters.
This victory was meaningful to Quoc Khanh as he had been dubbed the "King of Second Place." Speaking about his win, the Hai Phong schoolboy said, "I hope people can say that the laurel wreath chose the right person."
Meanwhile, both Duc Anh and Nhat Thanh expressed regret that they lostthe laurel wreath despite having many opportunities. However, their Olympia journey may not be over yet. If both have the highest second-place scores of the month, they will have a chance to "battle" once again to determine who will advance to the quarterly competition.
