Storm Kirogi weakens into low pressure area
VTV.vn - Storm Kirogi, the 14th recorded storm to form in the area this year, weakened to a tropical depression on Sunday morning around 200 kilometers off Vietnam's south-central coast.

At 4pm on Sunday, the tropical depression made landfall in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces, weakening further into a low pressure zone.

Meteorological services, however, warn that the zone will still bring rain to areas from Quang Nam to Binh Thuan provinces as well as the central highlands. Rising river levels and increased rainfall will call for vigilance from localities.

There is a high risk of flash floods, landslides and flooding, especially in Binh Dinh and Phu Yen Provinces. At a meeting on Sunday, the Vietnam Central Committee for Flood and Storm Control required all localities to increase monitoring of at-risk areas.
