Storm Bolaven may fall to tropical depression

VTV.vn - Storm Bolaven, the first storm to hit Vietnam this year, could weaken into a tropical depression and likely affect the Central Highlands and south.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, as of 4 pm on January 3, Storm Bolaven was south-west of Southwest Cay in the Spratly Archipelago, with winds of up to 60-75km per hour.

In the next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move the west at a speed of 20-25 km per hour and weaken into a tropical depression. The Central Highlands and southern localities have been directed to take measures to prepare for the storm.
