Born into a farming family in Bac Giang, Tran Viet Hung faced countless challenges from a young age due to congenital cerebral palsy. His daily activities relied entirely on his family’s assistance. As he grew older, he was diagnosed with several other chronic illnesses. However, due to financial constraints, medical treatment remained an unattainable dream.
Refusing to surrender to fate, Viet Hung always held out hope for a better future. Although confined to a wheelchair for life, he was determined to learn and find a job to support himself. Through a twist of fate, he l met Nguyen Thi Lan—a visually impaired woman with a heart full of love. Sharing similar struggles, they decided to come together and build a happy home.
Every day, the couple earns a living by running a small drink stand at home. Despite their modest income, their hard work and perseverance ensure that their two young children have the best life possible. In addition, Hung has learned how to repair computers and download music for mobile phones to supplement their income. His extraordinary willpower and relentless spirit have made him a role model within the disabled community.
Recognizing the potential of information technology in supporting people with disabilities, Tran Viet Hung took the initiative to learn and actively participate in activities organized by the Bac Giang Province Disabled Persons Association. He inspires others and helps people in similar circumstances access technology tools to create job opportunities. In 2020, he was honored with a certificate of merit for his outstanding contributions to the Lang Giang District Youth Union youth movement. Hung also frequently participates in "Spreading the Spirit of Resilience" forums, where he shares valuable life lessons and personal experiences in overcoming difficulties.
Beyond his inspiring perseverance, the love story of Tran Viet Hung and Nguyen Thi Lan touches many hearts. Initially, their decision to be together faced numerous challenges, including financial difficulties and physical limitations. However, their love and compassion helped them overcome all obstacles. There were days when they earned only 30,000–50,000 VND (approximately $1.20–$2), yet they found joy in simply being together. They cherish every moment together, supporting one another at work and raising their children. Two lives have found solace in each other, creating a home that, though humble, is filled with warmth. "Just seeing my wife and children smile gives me the motivation to keep going", Hung said.
With the theme "Keep Moving Forward", Station of Love will bring viewers closer to Tran Viet Hung’s story through engaging conversations and exciting challenges. To kick off the show, Hung will participate in a challenge to create a TikTok video introducing himself—a chance for him to showcase his confidence and technological skills.
The program also features a heartfelt conversation with his mother, Ms.Hoang Thi Tinh, who has stood by him through the most challenging times.
In addition to Hung’s journey, viewers will also meet Nguyen Thi Lan, his wife, who has helped him build their small family. Their love story will be explored in depth, from their first impressions of each other to the hardships they have overcome together. Lan has been his steadfast companion, encouraging him to pursue his dreams—not only to develop his career but also to help others facing similar struggles. "I hope to open a free IT class for people with disabilities so they can have more opportunities in life", Hung said.
Physical limitations have never stopped Tran Viet Hung from living a meaningful life. Not only has he achieved personal independence, but he has also spread his spirit of resilience to the community.
