VTV.vn - Unable to move around, unable to go to school, with only one finger capable of movement, Tran Tra My has learned herself to read and write, becoming a writer.

Born healthy like any other child, but unfortunate circumstances struck Trần Trà My when she was just 3 months old. Through the program's revealing coverage, the reason why the female writer in her 80s is closely associated with a wheelchair was gradually disclosed. On that day, the little My's body began to develop tiny spots, increasingly severe, and she had to undergo surgery. Her legs became shortened, unable to move independently, her hands were cramped and could only move one finger, her speech was not clearly audible…

Unable to go to school, relying on others for every movement, coupled with self-esteem issues and self-consciousness…, there were times when Trà My thought of negative things. However, seeing her younger sister diligently studying, the older sister quietly observed. Gradually, Trà My, despite the difficulties, painstakingly spelled out each word, then practiced writing on paper. There were times when her hand and body were tired, but each time she wrote a word or spelled out a sentence, there was additional joy. From those "borrowed" words, Trà My ventured into the world of books, opening up a vast life for someone who had been confined within four walls all year round.

At the age of 14, Trà My began composing poetry, which was a turning point in her life when her works became known to many: "My first essay was broadcast on the provincial TV and radio station in Quảng Trị. At that moment, it was like a burst of hope within me. I found it - joy from literature." Since then, the love for poetry and literature has added confidence and hope to Trà My's life. At the age of 21, having access to a computer, she realized that typing with one finger was easier than writing. Trà My began to conquer the keyboard and started writing her own stories with just one finger.

Life has unfolded in vibrant colors for the young girl. Trà My believes that writing is not just about becoming a writer, but primarily about changing herself. She writes to express herself, to relieve stress, and to aspire to a different life. Therefore, she once again resolved to change her life by deciding to start a career in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2007, Trần Trà My left the sunny land of Quảng Trị moved to the South. Trà My earns a living through writing, journalism, and taking additional classes in communication. Until now, the writer Trần Trà My has lived independently for nearly 12 years, taking care of herself, exploring and learning, publishing several impressive books, including "Giấc mơ đôi chân thiên thần" (2009), "Chúng ta chính là mùa xuân" (2010), "Yêu… trên từng ngón tay" (2013), and most recently, "Tin vào điều tử tế”, published by the Culture - Arts Publishing House.

Although her health is not as robust as that of an average person, always relying on a wheelchair for mobility, the female writer frequently travels from the North to the South to participate in her own programs and community projects. Beyond book publications, Trần Trà My is currently working on the project "Bringing Books to Prisons", is a co-founder of the “Giấc mơ đôi chân thiên thần” (GMĐCTT), aiding literature-loving individuals with disabilities. She serves as a goodwill ambassador for numerous charitable programs. The special gift from the program will undoubtedly provide additional strength for her on this humanitarian journey.

The "Station of Love" with the theme "Sowing Seeds of the Soul" continues to be an eagerly anticipated rendezvous at the familiar time of 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, on VTV1 channel.
