Station of Love: A 90s-Born Man Rises From Adversity

Born in 1993, Mr. Dang Van Duong,   grew up in a farming family, leading a simple but challenging life. As the son, he understood from an early age that he had a   responsibility to work hard, support his parents, and build a future. Prior to a pivotal moment  in his life, he worked away from home, taking on various jobs to establish financial stability and savings,  with the aspiration of providing for his family and one day building a home of his own.

In 2019, however, a serious traffic accident became a painful turning point. The accident resulted in the amputation of part of Duong's left leg, as well as  affecting  his overall health and ability to work, including reduced vision due to nerve damage. When he woke up after surgery, he was plunged  into a deep crisis as he  came to terms with   living with a disability. What followed were long days of insecurity, sadness, and   a sense  of directionlessness, as his plans for the future seemed to collapse.

Returning home with declining health and impaired mobility, Duong became largely dependent on his family. The psychological burden grew heavier as he felt he had become someone in need of care, rather than  someone who  supported   his parents. Alongside his physical limitations, he had to confront mental barriers, plagued by  self-doubt and  constant anxiety about the future.

Despite seemingly reaching a dead end, Duong learned to accept his situation and gradually rebuilt his life. With his family's support and  through a traditional silver-crafting trade, he found an income and renewed hope, which helped him regain   his confidence.

In Station of Love, viewers  accompany Duong to a silver workshop, where fine silver strands are shaped into intricate creations. Through simple yet heartfelt storytelling, the program chronicles  his journey of learning the craft, overcoming  early challenges, and experiencing the joy of creating his first handmade pieces.  One particularly moving moment is when he   meets   the artisan mentor who introduced him  to the profession. This is not only a story of teaching a trade, but also of passing on beliefs and patience, and helping someone who was    once lost to rediscover  their value.

The program also features Duong’s colleagues, who reflect on his transformation from a withdrawn individual to a passionate craftsman. Their honest insights underscore his resilience, while intimate moments reveal his hopes for a stable and fulfilling future as he seeks to hone his skills.

Mr. Dang Van Duong's saga is  that of a man who has faced a major life setback, moving from loss and despair to the determination to stand up again and reclaim his sense of purpose. His journey is not about overcoming physical disability, but also about breaking through mental limits and continuing to live   and believe   in the future.
