State President visits Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines

VTV.vn - State President Trương Tấn Sang and Vietnamese delegation visited Vietnam’s Embassy in the Philippines during their time at the 23rd APEC Summit on Thursday, Nov 19th.

During the visit, the state president listened to an embassy report on the condition of overseas Vietnamese in the Philippines.

He spoke highly of the efforts and achievements made by Vietnamese living in the country. He also spoke with embassy staff about the country’s socio-economic development. He hoped that the diplomatic workers would continue to build a strong and united overseas Vietnamese community in the Philippines and contribute to enhance the relationship between the two countries.

Earlier, also during the trip to attending the 23rd APEC Summit, the State President Truong Tan Sang had a discussion with Philippine President Benigno Aquino. The two leaders talked about solutions to promoting bilateral co-operation between the two countries. At the end of meeting, the two sides issued a joint statement to establish strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Philippines.The statement took effect from Nov 17th and is expected to be guiding framework for collaboration in several aspects.
