At the meeting, President Sang underscored the long-lasting friendship between Russia today and the Soviet Union in the past, especially the support of Russian people in the Vietnam’s fight for national liberation.
The two leaders also discussed co-operation between Saint Petersburg and Vietnamese regions, especially Ho Chi Minh City on energy, technology, medicine and tourism. Poltavchenko also expressed his hope to strengthen economic ties with Ho Chi Minh City. He said that SaintPetersburg was keen to welcome Vietnamese agricultural products in the future.
