State President receives notable diplomats

Among the guests were Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Binh - also Vietnam’s first female foreign minister, and other delegates representing over 4 thousand working and retired diplomats. At the meeting, State President Truong Tan Sang applauded the achievements of Vietnam’s diplomats of the years, from sealing the 1954 Geneva Agreements and 1973 Paris Peace Accords, to raising Vietnam’s political status globally, and forging friendly ties with other countries and territories.
