State President receives Bangladesh Parliament speaker

At the talks, the Vietnamese leader appreciated the support the two countries gave each other during their respective resistance wars as well as the construction process at present.

He said that the visit would contribute to fostering the friendship and co-operation between the two countries and the legislative bodies.

The Vietnamese leader also suggested closer co-operation with Bangladesh in terms of politics, national security, business, science and technology, culture and education.

The Bangladesh Parliament Speaker stressed that Bangladesh would like to expand co-operation with Vietnam, particularly targeting 1 billion US dollars in bilateral trade.

The two sides agreed on fostering education ties and cultural exchange, and sharing experiences on climate change mitigation.
