The official welcome ceremony for President Truong Tan Sang and the Vietnamese delegation was held on March 14th at Saadabad Palace in the Iranian capital of Tehran. After the ceremony, president Sang had discussions with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at the Presidential Palace. The Iranian president stressed that the visit would open more chances for the two countries to co-operate. In addition to collaboration in sectors such as car manufacturing, garment production and agriculture, the two leaders also agree the need to improve exchange activities between the two nations in culture, tourism and education. The two leaders also discussed about regional and international issues including terrorism and territorial disputes. President Sang also used the meeting as an opportunity to invige President Hassan Rouhani to pay a visit to Vietnam.
