The Embassy of Vietnam and the Lao Foreign Ministry jointly organised a friendly football match in Vientiane, on August 18, in celebration of the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations and 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
The event was witnessed by Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung and Lao Foreign Minister Saleurmxay Kommasith.
After 90 minutes, the Lao Foreign Ministry’s team beat the Vietnamese Embassy’s squad 4-3.
The friendly match aimed to enhance the mutual understanding and strengthen the traditional and special friendship between the two agencies in particular, and the two nations in general.
The same day, the security sectors of the two nations held a sporting exchange programme as part of the activities to celebrate the 72nd National Day (September 2) of Vietnam and the traditional day of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force (August 19).
