The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam - a major political event of exceptional significance to the country’s future - will officially open on the morning of January 20. The 14th National Congress takes place in a particularly significant context: Vietnam has overcome many upheavals and stands on the threshold of new opportunities. The country is entering a stage of development that demands new thinking, a renewed vision, and stronger determination. This Congress is also regarded as a “significant milestone”, as Vietnam is determined to realize the “two centennial goals,” which are becoming a modern, industrialized, and prosperous nation by the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding in 2030 and establishing a developed, democratic, and civilized society. By 2045, the 100th anniversary of the nation's founding, Vietnam aims to become a high-income, developed nation and build a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy society, firmly advancing toward socialism.
Produced by the News Department of VTV, the special program “Under the Glorious Flag of the Party” provides an opportunity to reflect on the journey thus far, feel the people’s trust, and convey aspirations for development to the Congress. These aspirations are rooted in the deep belief that the 14th National Congress will open a new chapter for the country and the Vietnamese nation.
Spanning nearly one hour, the program will guide viewers through five thematic chapters, interwoven with field reports rich in real-life substance and musical performances imbued with the spirit of spring. Together, they form a vibrant symphony of confidence and hope. MCs Huu Bang and Khanh Trang will host the program from the VTV studio.
All connections to live broadcast locations are carefully tested during program preparation.
In addition to the main studio at VTV, there will be live broadcast locations across the country capturing the enthusiastic atmosphere and the expectations of people from all walks of life regarding the 14th National Congress. Reporters include Phuong Huyen from Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi), Tran Long from Da Nang, Duc Hanh from Ho Chi Minh City, Ngoc Thuy from the Central Highlands, and Hoang Khoa from the Mekong Delta. Meanwhile, reporter Quynh Trang will update viewers on the solemn and urgent atmosphere at the Congress venue from the Media Center at the National Convention Center (NCC), where 1,586 delegates are ready for the opening session.
The program will also feature in-depth discussions with leading experts, including Associate Professor Nguyen Hong Son, former Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, and Dr. Bui Van Thach, former Deputy Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee.
