VTV.vn - Provinces across southern Vietnam continue to impose social distancing measures on areas where new COVID-19 infections have been detected to prevent the spread of the virus.

In Lam Dong Province, restrictions of varying degrees were put in place in Don Duong District starting from July 11 following the detection of several cases related to Ho Chi Minh City.

On July 10, Hau Giang Province locked down eight zones with a total of 429 households while Dong Nai Province isolated six wards in Bien Hoa City amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases related to traditional markets.

Local authorities said the city has recorded 60 cases, many of which are traders with links to terminal markets in Ho Chi Minh City.

The southernmost province of Ca Mau also stepped up measures on July 10 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 following the detection of 14 new cases, most of which are linked to two people that travelled from Ho Chi Minh City.

An Giang Province also decided to impose social distancing measures starting from July 11, requiring all travellers from outside the province to have certificates of negative test results for the virus to enter An Giang.

As of July 10, the province has recorded 109 cases, of which 35 were imported cases.
