On May 6, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in coordination with the Van Mieu–Quoc Tu Giam Culture and Science Centre, launched the exhibition at the Van Mieu (Temple of Literature).
The exhibition introduced 105 paintings by 20 artists from Southern provinces and cities, which feature people, daily activities, culture, heritages and landscapes of provinces and cities in South Vietnam.
This is the first time that watercolour painters in the South have had an exhibition at the Van Mieu. The works on display this time are just a small part of their creation process.
Director of the Van Mieu–Quoc Tu Giam Culture and Science Centre Le Xuan Kieu said, “Through this exhibition, the centre wishes to connect the creativity of southern painters with the Hanoi public. This is also a combination of ancient Van Mieu with contemporary creation and the combination between tradition and modernity. The Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam is also expected to become a creative space of the capital city.”
The exhibition will run until May 24.
