This art form plays an important role in the lives of residents in the Southern region of Vietnam. The festival aims to create a space for artists to meet and exchange ideas and to provide experience for young artists.
Ten teams gathered at the 24th Southern Amateur Singing (Don Ca Tai Tu) Festival. The art form was announced by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humankind on December 5, 2013.
