To apply for the registration of industrial design protection, businesses need to perform many stages from doing research to avoid duplication, filing in multiple languages, hiring lawyers, and making drawings showing industrial design features. These complicated conditions are creating difficulties for Vietnam's export enterprises in implementing the registration of industrial designs.
The National Office of Intellectual Property is urgently training human resources and upgrading information technology infrastructure to ensure the receipt and processing of applications and implementation of regulations under the Lahay Agreement as soon as the agreement officially takes effect from January 1st, 2020.
