Covering a total area of 33 hectares, the 40-megawatt solar farm received total investment of VND700 billion (nearly US$30.5 million) and includes 79,000 photovoltaic panels, an operation building, a substation and a 6.83-kilometre transmission line.
It is the first solar farm installed in Hau Giang Province and is expected to generate annual revenue of around VND80 billion (US$3.5 million).
The Hau Giang solar farm will tap into the solar energy potential of the Mekong Delta province and comes in accordance with the Politburo’s resolution on renewable energy, said Hau Giang Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Hoa.
Halcom Vietnam Chairman Nguyen Quang Huan said that the farm is a successful step in the company’s goal of producing 300-500 megawatts of renewable energy by 2025.
