VTV.vn - The Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths, or JENESYS, is a project aimed at facilitating youth exchange in the South East Asia region.

JENESYS includes participants from ASEAN member countries, Australia, New Zealand, India, China, and Korea. This year, Japan’s Omiya Ardija soccer team was chosen to visit Vietnam and play soccer with Vietnamese youths.

Prior to the match, the Japanese group also met with Tay Ho High School students and visited Duong Lam old village and Halong Bay. They had the opportunity to learn about the people and traditional culture of Vietnam, and at the same time introduced some elements of Japanese culture to Vietnamese teenagers.

"The Vietnamese players have very good techniques and coordinate well with their team members. I think Vietnamese people are very friendly. Through this soccer match, I hope the friendship between Japanese and Vietnamese youths will be stronger", said Ryo Yamazaki - a player of U20 Omiya Ardija soccer team.

After one week in Vietnam, the Japanese team has learned more about the country and its culture, while the Vietnamese youths have also had a chance to share experiences with and learn about their Japanese peers.
