The two-storey vessel is capable of accommodating 306 passengers and runs at an average speed of 26 nautical miles per hour. The trip takes two and a half hours. As from July 14, there will be one return trip every day, with boats departing from 8 am and returning from Con Dao at 1 pm. Once a notorious prison island during the French colonial era, Con Dao has become an international tourist destination, attracting visitors for its unspoilt beauty.The 16-island archipelago was previously only accessible by flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho or by ferry from Vung Tau.
