The participants include Hanoi, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Son La, Ho Chi Minh City II, Ho Chi Minh City Youth and TNG Thai Nguyen.
The teams will battle it out in a double round robin tournament for the top honour.
In addition to prizes for the overall champions, the runners-up, and the third-place team, the organising board will present awards to the teams with attractive style, the best player, the top scorer, the best goalkeeper and the best referee group.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation Le Hoai Anh noted that the championships to create a professional playground for female players, contributing to further improving the quality of domestic women’s football tournaments.
After the opening ceremony, the competition kicked off with the host Hanoi’s 7-0 victory over Son La. Meanwhile Phong Phu ha Nam edged out TNG Thai Nguyen 5-0.
