VTV.vn - Germany’s Laura Siegemund and Russian Vera Zvonareva captured the US Open women’s doubles crown with a 6-4 6-4 win over third seeds Nicole Melichar of the United States and China’s Yifan Xu on Friday.

* German fifth seed Alexander Zverev overcame a listless start to secure a thrilling 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 6-3 US Open semi-final win over Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta on Friday to reach his first Grand Slam final.

* Dominic Thiem advanced to his second Grand Slam final of 2020, digging out a win over third seeded Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-2 7-6(7) 7-6(5) at the US Open on Friday.

* Valtteri Bottas put dominant champions Mercedes on top of the timesheets in Friday (Sep 11) practice for the Tuscan Grand Prix, the first Formula One championship race held at Ferrari's Mugello circuit. Team mate Lewis Hamilton, who leads the Finn by 47 points after eight races, completed the one-two on a sunny afternoon in Italy with a time 0.207 slower.

* Primoz Roglic extended his lead in the Tour de France on Friday as Daniel Martinez scored a first stage win for US team Education First by triumphing in a titanic mountain battle. Defending champion Egan Bernal dropped 37 seconds on his two key rivals, the Slovenian pair of Roglic and Tadej Pogacar, over the final kilometre of the 191.5km 13th stage.

* Fulham have signed wing back Ola Aina on a season-long loan from Italian Serie A side Torino, the promoted Premier League club said on Friday (Sep 11). Fulham also have an option to make the 23-year-old's arrival permanent and the Nigeria international said he was happy to return to London where he was born and raised.
