Severe cold weather in Northern Vietnam

VTV.vn - Starting today, the north of Vietnam officially entered a severe and widespread cold spell, especially in the mountainous areas.

The lowest temperatures are in the Red River Delta with 11-14 degrees Celsius, and in the mountainous areas with 9-11 degrees Celsius.

The cold weather is likely to last until December 12 and will produce heavy rains from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue. Nghe An and Ha Tinh, in particular, had heavy rains over the last few hours.

In the next 3-6 hours, there's a high risk of flash floods and landslides in Nghe An and Ha Tinh Province, especially in the districts of Thanh Chương, Nghi Lộc, Hưng Nguyên and Vinh City in Nghe An, Hương Khê district, and Ha Tinh city of Ha Tinh province.
