Seven COVID-19 patients receive discharge, taking total recoveries to 223
An additional seven patients who had been suffering from the novel coronavirus were subsequently discharged from hospital on April 22, bringing the country’s total number of people receiving the all-clear to 222,making up 83% of all positive COVID-19

A total of four of the discharged patients relate to Bach Mai hospital, a COVID-19 hotspot in Hanoi.

Indeed, the country’s 184th and 215th patients are thought to have both picked up the virus during their work for Truong Sinh company, a firm that provides catering services for Bach Mai hospital.

Cases involving 227th and 266th patients had been visiting their relatives who were patients in Bach Mai hospital.

The two remaining cases are both Vietnamese citizens who were in the process of returning home from abroad. They had both been placed at an concentrated isolation area at the FPT University in Thach That district of Hanoi before the pair were admitted to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The country’s 216th patient first returned home from Germany on March 23, whilst the 246th case involves a chef working in Moscow, Russia, who arrived in Vietnam on March 25.

Additionally, patient 252 was released from Tay Ninh Province General Hospital.

Doctors stated that all six patients have responded positively to therapy and have subsequently tested negative for the virus three times, therefore meeting the criteria to be discharged from hospital.

Following the move to discharge the six individuals, each of them will be placed into quarantine in order to undergo a compulsory 14-day isolation period where their health will be closely observed in an attempt to ensure that their symptoms do not flare up again, thus reducing the risk of community infection.

As of April 22, the Ministry of Health has reported no fresh coronavirus cases over the past six days. As a result, the nation’s total number of COVID-19 cases stands at 268, with no deaths reported so far.
