Seminar suggests ways for factories and industrial parks to go green

VTV.vn - A seminar entitled ‘Green Innovation in Factories and Industrial Parks: Going with the Flow for Sustainable Development’ was held by the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of Ho Chi Minh City and the BambuUP innovation platform on August 8.

The event attracted the participation of more than 150 delegates from industrial parks, factories, and manufacturing enterprises.

Participants at the event joined panel discussions on solutions for factories and industrial parks to overcome the difficulties they face in going green, shared their experiences of successful models, and suggested practical technological solutions.

According to experts, the green technology and sustainability market was valued at 28.6 billion USD in 2024 and is projected to grow to 134.9 billion USD by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 29.5%.

Global businesses are undergoing a significant transformation by embracing green technology and sustainability initiatives in order to improve their competitiveness, attract green investment, and ensure sustainable impacts.

Speaking at the event, BambuUP Director Nguyen Huong Quynh listed five popular green production trends, including energy optimisation, making products with sustainable elements, minimising waste generation and waste recycling, increasing the use of smart technology in production, and lean manufacturing.

For his part, Tran Thien Long, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Industrial Real Estate Association, said businesses need to assess the impact of green transformation trends and carbon taxes, monitor environmental regulations, use technology while participating in green projects, and familiarise themselves with greenhouse gas emission calculation methods.
